As well as creating their own vehicles, Tesla also has partnerships with other manufacturers. Tesla create components for other car manufacturers, work with suppliers on their components, and partner with operators for Destination Chargers.
Vehicles that use Tesla components include:
- Mercedes-Benz A-Class E-Cell
- Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive
- Smart ForTwo Electric Drive
- Toyota RAV4 EV
- Freightliner trucks' Custom Chassis electric van.
Other partnerships include:
- Panasonic producing nickel-based lithium-ion battery cells and photovoltaic cells in the Gigafactory
- AirBnb providing Destination Chargers at certain host houses, initially in California
- Liberty Mutual and Direct Line offering car insurance plans designed specifically for Tesla owners
